The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency is responsible for enforcing U.S. immigration laws in the interest of preserving national security and public safety.

The ICE Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) uses the Student and Exchange Visitor InformationSystem (SEVIS) to maintain essential data on nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors. This web-based system is considered a core technology for DHS’s mission, and for facilitating students’ legal entry into the U.S.

Changeis supported SEVIS’s modernization by redesigning and reengineering the user training experience. We began by conducting a full assessment of the user training and defining all learning objectives. Next, we developed and implemented a curriculum and multiple delivery models to address the complexities of training a broad user audience.

The new training will help users take the proper actions in SEVIS to ensure that they’re compliant with federal rules and regulations. By adapting the curriculum for both webinar and in-person formats, Changeis helped DHS make training easily accessible to more users.

Additionally, Changeis is updating the SEVIS Help Hub on the DHS “Study in the States” website — ensuring that user instructions remain relevant and correct.
